History on the Margins: The Surviving Remnant and Yiddish Holocaust Literature in the Stockholm Jewish Library

New post on the EHRI Documenty Blog introduces the Yiddish book collection of the Jewish Library in Stockholm as an important record of how the survivor generation dealt with the Holocaust. The post describes the books with their annotations and dedications as valuable historical documents in their own right. By analysing this collection of khurbn-literatur, the post draws conclusions about the social history of the survivor community in Sweden, its exchanges and networks. The books also provide an interesting insight into the lives of the Jewish refugees who came to Sweden and their desire to start a new life.
