The Czech-German Historian Commission and the Slovak-German Historian Commission have the task of researching the common history of Czechs, Germans and Slovaks. The focus of their work lies in the 20th century. The Commissions take a multidisciplinary approach to the topics and try to analyse the historical experiences that unite Czechs, Germans and Slovaks in a broad historical context and in a comparative perspective. The Commissions organise conferences and expert meetings and publish their own editorial series. Young scholars can apply to the Czech-German Historian Commission for scholarships for a research stay abroad.
