Práce z dějin Akademie věd

[Studies in the History of the Academy of Sciences]

The journal Práce z dějin Akademie věd [Studies in the History of the Academy of Sciences] is a peer-reviewed professional journal (published since 2009), which loosely follows the Archivní zprávy ČSAV (1970–1985), Práce z dějin Československé akademie věd, Series A (1986–1992), Práce z dějin Akademie věd, Series A (1997–1999), and Práce z Archivu Akademie věd, Series A (2002–2007). The journal focuses on the history of scientific institutions, publishes texts on the life and work of leading scientists, and reflects on the social history of science. It deals with the source base for the history of science, the selection, processing, access to and use of archival funds and collections, records services and editorial activities. It focuses on more general topics in archives, the history of science and education, social reflection on science and the professionalization of science, concepts of science policy, relations and communication between scientists and within the network of scientific institutions, including in a broader international context. The journal is published twice a year and is indexed in the international databases ERIH Plus and CEEOL. The journal is published by the Masaryk Institute and the Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, v. v. i.
