History of the Holocaust

The persecution and systematic murder of Jews and Roma significantly affected society in the Czech lands and Central Europe and contributed to the demise of religiously, linguistically and culturally diverse societies. The Masaryk Institute and the Archives of the CAS aim to promote transnational research on the Holocaust and its better integration into the narratives of Czech and Central European history. It co-organises the international conference Lessons & Legacies in Prague in 2023, coordinates the Czech node of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure and develops the MemoGIS mobile application projecting data on Holocaust victims into the city space.
